Electric Hoists

Electric Hoists

KITO electric chain hoists enable the safe and ergonomic lifting of heavy loads in industry. By using quality parts and frequency inverters in their electric hoists, KITO has developed a range of durable and reliable hoists which are easy to use and built to last.

The KITO electric chain hoists available from Red Rooster Lifting are available in load capacities from 60 kg to 20 tonne.

ABOUT OUR ELECTRIC CHAIN HOISTS

Here are some key characteristics and considerations for our Electric Chain Hoists:

ED electric hoists:

The ED series of electric chain hoists are lightweight and versatile as well as weatherproof and corrosion-resistant. They are available in capacities from 60 kg to 480 kg depending on your lifting needs. 230V / 50Hz single phase.

EQ electric hoists:

The EQ series of electric chain hoists feature increased productivity due to the frequency inverter that provides adjustable dual lifting speeds, smooth starts and low-speed stops, enabling precise positioning. The EQ range is available in 380 – 440V / 50 – 60 Hz, 3 phases and is available in capacities from 125 kg to 1 tonne. The EQS range is available in 110 or 220 – 240V / 50Hz, single phase and is available in capacities from 500 kg to 1 tonne.

ER2 electric hoists:

The ER2 series of electric chain hoists are for applications under extreme conditions – powerful, durable and robust. The ER2 range is available in 380 – 440 V / 50 – 60 Hz and are available in capacities from 125 kg to 20 tonnes in single or dual speed.

Here are some key features and components of electric chain hoists:

Electric Motor: Electric chain hoists are powered by an electric motor. This motor provides the necessary force to lift and lower the load.

Hoisting Speed: Electric chain hoists offer variable hoisting speeds, allowing operators to adjust the lowering speed based on the requirements of the task.

Control System: Electric chain hoists come with a control system that allows the operator to manage the lifting and lowering operations. This can include a pendant control with push buttons or a remote control for more flexibility.

Safety Features: Many KITO electric chain hoists are equipped with safety features such as upper and lower limit switches to prevent over-travel, thermal protection to prevent the motor from overheating, and high-performance mechanical braking systems with friction clutch for overload protection and to ensure precise control.

Mounting Options: Electric chain hoists can be mounted in various ways, such as on a beam in a fixed position for vertical movement, or on a manual or motorized trolley, for both vertical and horizontal movement.

Durability: These hoists are designed to be durable and able to withstand industrial use.

Ease of Maintenance: KITO Electric chain hoists are generally designed for easy maintenance and feature a 36-month warranty at no extra cost.

FAQs

Electric Motor: The hoist is powered by an electric motor, which is connected to a power source. When the motor is energised, it generates mechanical power.

Reduction Gearbox: The mechanical power generated by the electric motor is transmitted to a reduction gearbox. The gearbox serves to reduce the speed of the motor while increasing the torque, providing the necessary force for lifting heavy loads.

Lifting Drum or Wheel: The gearbox is connected to a lifting drum or wheel. The lifting chain is wound around this drum. As the drum rotates, the chain is either wound up (lifting the load) or unwound (lowering the load).

Chain: The load is attached to a hook or other lifting attachment at the end of the chain. The chain is a crucial component, designed to handle the weight of the load.

Brake System: To control the lifting and lowering of the load, electric chain hoists are equipped with a brake system. This system is designed to hold the load in place when the hoist is not actively lifting or lowering. It enhances safety and precision in positioning the load.

Control System: Electric chain hoists come with a control system that allows the operator to manage the lifting and lowering operations. This can include a pendant control with push buttons, a control panel on the hoist itself, or a remote control for more flexible operation.

Limit Switches: KITO electric hoists can be equipped with limit switches to prevent over-travel. These switches stop the hoist when the load reaches its upper or lower limit, preventing damage to the hoist or the load.

Safety Features: Additional safety features may include thermal protection for the motor to prevent overheating and emergency stop functions for quick halting of operations in case of an issue.

Mounting Options: Electric chain hoists can be mounted in various ways, depending on the specific application. Common mounting options include fixed mounting on a beam, mounting on a trolley for both vertical and horizontal movement.

The operator controls the hoist using the control system, adjusting the lifting speed and direction as needed for the task at hand. Regular maintenance, including inspections and lubrication, is crucial to ensure the hoist’s continued reliability and safety.
