The new solution needed to handle the lifting and movement of materials with greater ease and precision while meeting strict European and National Standards, including the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008. The client also required the crane to minimize manual input and reduce the risk of operator fatigue or error.

Powered Overhead Crane Solution
Red Rooster Lifting provided and installed a 5 Tonne Underslung Overhead Single Girder Crane designed to meet the customer’s requirements. The crane was manufactured in compliance with all relevant standards, carrying the CE and UKCA safety marks to ensure regulatory compliance.

- Hoist: Street ZX06 wire rope hoist with a low-headroom design to maximize lifting height.
- Crane Motion: Dual-speed lifting (4.2/1.4 m/min), inverter-controlled cross travel (2-20 m/min), and long travel speeds (3.2-32 m/min) for smooth and precise operation.
- Control System: A mobile pendant with a 2-step push button for intuitive control of crane motions.
- Paint Finish: Durable coatings in RAL 1003 Yellow and RAL 7021 Black Grey for corrosion resistance and aesthetic appeal.
- Accessories: Comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, certification, and warranty. The installation process involved:
- Removal of the existing manual crane.
- Landing and securing the new crane on long-travel rails.
- Installing a 100-amp conductor rail system for power distribution.
- Full-load testing at 6.25 tonnes (+25% of SWL).
- Issuing thorough examination and test certificates upon completion. The entire process was completed in just 2.5 days, minimizing downtime for the client.
